More info
An intricate piece of art from Madhubani art, depicting an ornate delineation of fish in a pond, amidst foliage. The intricate patterns on the motifs and the border, quite akin to filigree work speak volumes of finesse and a keen eye for definition and detail. Madhubani paintings are made mainly by the women of Mithila in Bihar, though now their menfolk too are taking on. They are done using natural colours produced from locally available flowers, berries, leaves, barks, and charcoal.
