More info
This pure wool shawl in soft tan colour, with an intricately done 'filled-in' border that's nothing short of a painting, would add manifold to the grace and sophistication of it's wearer. The delicate, essentially Kashmiri pattern of 'chinar' (Himalyan Maple) leaves and flower and paisley, executed in Sozni (needle) embroidery, using a single strand of yarn, together with its choice of colours in just the right tones and amounts, against the 'Khali-matan' (plain background), works wonders to make this a versatile, all occasions piece of art, well suited for all age groups.
That this shawl is entirely done in hand, right from the picking of the wool, spinning of the yarn, weaving of the fabric, to the embellishment with the fine embroidery, puts it in a class of its own.
